Time Served Female Plasterer and Renderer.
In 2004 I retrained in the Construction Industry as a Plasterer. I completed my site based apprenticeship NVQ Level 3 in Solid Plastering alongside Darlington College. I worked for a company based in Newcastle who specialised in EWI render systems until 2010 when I decided to become self employed.
I set up Kimberley Plastering and Rendering Services and continued to subcontract for the same company and a few others until I became a Mum to Rex in 2015. This was the end of my site contracting life! The hours and commitment was not fitting for our family life. We had a second Son, Lenny in 2017 and my ethos to work around my children became paramount.
Being self employed I am able to take on work around my husband and children/stepchildren (Lauren and Lucas who I was lucky enough to gain along the way). This means I work evenings, weekends and days to fit around my husband (Gary) and his landscape gardening business.

Rex has now started school and my workload can continue to increase as my family grow up. I am passionate and committed to my work and feel grateful for the work life balance that my career change has allowed me.

Solid Plastering/ Re-skims

External Wall Insulation
To install External Wall Insulation (EWI) makes a massive improvement on your property. It improves insualtion, warmth, reduces damp and is eco friendly too. The finishing render onto the boards is also eco friendly, breathable and reduces damp. The system comes in various facades and in all the colours of the rainbow!

The system incorporates a closed cell structure which stops water absorption and is not affected by climate. By keeping the heat inside the property it reduces the carbon emissions. EWI helps to reduce condensation and cold or wet internal walls.

EWI is the perfect solution for renovations and new builds alike. It can be used onto timber frame or to meet building requirements as an alternative 'second skin' requirement.The system is bespoke to your requirements and will be custom built to your exact specification. With experience since 2004 there are few problems we cannot find the best solution for.

The system involves installing a full metal base trim to the area then insulation boards being drill fixed to the walls using specialist approved fixings. The area will then be fully rendered using a three/four coat system specific to your requirements and colour choice.

Snagging/Repairs/Fixing
Something that is always needed commercially and domestically which most companies do not offer specifically is snagging and repair work. It is perfectly normal that every building site/new build/restoration/extension etc will have a snagging/repair list but it is not always normal that the workforce will be there to fix it. Make us a list, we will fix it. Silicone/acrylic render repairs a true speciality. All plastering repairs completed to your time scale with no fuss.
